Off subject(but i need help)

I have a 93 4cyl MX3 and need alittle help on installing a switch to a light. To the left of the steering wheel are two black plastic pieces(i don't have cruise control). On the right is the hazard light and rear defoster buttons. I can't seem to be able to get the black pieces popped out. Any suggestions?

BAD IDEA<P>I tried to put in a switch for fog lights there and totally butchered it. Trust me, there is not enough room behind those black panel fora switch unless it is super small. The frame that holds the panels on get in the way of the switch. It would be easier to put it somewhere on your center console or below your steering wheel on that expanse of black plastic.
