Car Won't start......PLEASE HELP!

Post by simo711 »

More Mazda troubles guys/gals. I was told by Mazda around December that I had a leak in the Tranny. They told me to get it fixed over summer. Well, now the car won't start or turnover unless it's in neutral. Can anyone please let me know what the hell is wrong and even if it is the transmission leak.
Problems that make me feel it's the tranny:
1. Shifting has been really hard.
2. I have to triple check to make sure the shifter is in the right drive and that it doesn't move.
3. Mazda said I had a tranny leak!!
Please help if you can!....especially MASON or the experts.
Chris
PS...it also has a nice dent in the rear left quarter panel from some freaking idiot college driver who backed into it in the same freaking day!

Did you ever have this leak fixed? Where is the fluid level right now? Does it ever kick out of drive while you are driving it? Does it ever slip out of 'Park' by itself? The linkage from your shifter to the tranny could be out of adjustment, the linkage from the throttle body to the tranny could be out of adjustment, most of the fluid could be gone, your tranny could be getting ready to call it quits, or a combination of any or all of the above. The first three are relatively easy and cheap.
