a lil help please

Post by Seanthepizzadude65065 »

I need to know if the 95 RS ATX is the same is as the 93 RS ATX. Becasue I bought a parts car, and I was wondering if I could use the tranny for my mom's car, its pumping out the transmisson oil extremely fast, witch makes it undrivable. And we asked some guys at a transmission shop if it was fixable and he said, "It's either a small thing or a huge thing and if its a huge thing it's not worth fixing." Can anyone help me out?

You also might want to check your tranny cooler lines... Mine rusted right thru and puked all my fluid up the street, from my driveway to the end of my street, about 1/4 mile tops. The hole was about as round as a pencil, and it took less than a minute to leak out about 4 quarts, enough to make the car not move once I stopped. Mazda wanted about $300 for new ones (the whole set). Junkyard gave them to me for $5 (from an Mx6.. I had to bend them but they worked fine, and had no rust). Luckily it didnt do any damage leaking it all out while I was driving, my tranny still shifts great.

Let me correct myself, it didnt do any damage that I KNOW OF... its happened twice (one set rusted thru, the second time one of the connecting hoses burst). I'd say check the lines, hoses, AND the pan and gasket before you swap it out. You might save yourself a lot of work....

I'd say to also check tranny gasket if you never changed the filter chances are the gasket just needs to be changed.hope that helps
