Hey, I beat a truck!

Post by pelado »

Well, I finally un-grounded my daughter and fixed her MX-3. I also bolted on the 64mm TB.
She took it to the local drags which, unfortunately, consists of only a 1000 foot track. She had made a couple of runs, so I wanted to give it a try.
Here's the results of my very first (I've led a sheltered life) drag:
Reaction .902
60 ft 2.431
1/8 ET 9.979
1/8 mph 73.45
1000 ET 12.686
1000 mph 83.19
I beat a late model Chevy pickup (this is Arkansas remember) by .441 seconds! Woo, woo!
It irked my daughter since she hasn't been able to break into the 12's yet!
By the weekend after next the Cosmo FPR, Walbro pump, and Hotshot headers should be on. I'm replacing the trashed rear engine mount also to try to tame the wheel hop. Hopefully the times will improve after all that effort.

whats a 1000 ft equate to? Congrats! Instead of all the power adders why not get some slicks to try to tame what you have? Get those 60's down in the high 1s instead of the mid 2s.
[ November 25, 2002: Message edited by: lazzyie ]

Well, a 1/4 mile is 1320 feet, so a 1000 is a few shy of that.
Yeah, I have thought of getting some extra wheels and some drag radials but I've already spent the money on the stuff I've listed so the tires might have to wait till spring. There's a forecast of snow here tonight. It was probably 70 here yesterday. Cold weather is finally arriving!
