How to Race an Auto MX-3???

I'm curious...how the hell do you race your automatic tranny mazda mx-3? All I honestly do is put the pedal to the metal and PUSH!!!<P>The car usually is behind at the beginning...so is there a better way to get the go and the start so that I can keep up?<P>Let me know, thanks.

hate to break it to you, but auto shifting isnt rocket science.. pressed the pedal down go, press it farther, go faster. Now trying to control your shift points to protect your tranny is a different subject... but if you're talking racing off the line not worried about your 4EAT, the just floor it.

ok i read someone that the IAT doesnt work for our auto. I have no idea why it wouldnt, but i remember a conversation either on here or probetalk that says it only works with the probe tranny.

Well that is news to mate!!<BR>Sh!t if you can drop a KlO3 or ZE in I don’t think cutting the fuel cut should be a prob for the 1.8…

well it worked for me but there again i have the mx-6 tranny installed already. Someone with the original mx-3 tranny should try and let us know the result. It wont hurt anything.

What about holding the brake and hitting the gas to rev up the car before the light turns green?

or rev it to 6 grand in neutral and slam it into drive..<P>wait..that was on a rental car
