headlights=ram air???
I went to an import race at a track and there were alot of (street) cars racing that it looked like had takin out one of their head lights. does this help in cooling the engine and what not? is it worth it to do?

Re: headlights=ram air???
the cars that do that usually have there cone air intake right behind or even inside there light housing.....sooo the cool air goes directly into the intake...umm not sure how much it helps by but im sure i doesnt hurt

Its probably worth a tenth or so depending on a whole bunch of other things.

Re: headlights=ram air???
yea...this is a popular mod with turbo DSM's as well. My Eclipse came stock with foglights, and i took them off to get more ait to the intercooler....i put a mesh-type grill to keep leaves and dirt out..seems to work pretty good.

My friend drag with a 91 Eagle Talon, got a Mitsubishi engine TSI in there. He take out his head light on every run, and open the light cover(?). Well, his lights open when you need those, like a cover. More air came in.. direct to his cone.<P>That might be considered ramming air in.
