Baggin' it
Hey all... curious to find out if you guys can help me. in a couple of weeks I finally get to start working on my car, almost 3 years after I bought the darn thing lol.. Anyway, first order or business is the suspension, and obviously I want to put air suspension in (hence the topic name). Has anyone done this? how difficult is it for a mechanic to do? and how much do the kits cost? Any tips or hints or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Baggin' it
i have only seen pics of 1 or 2 mx3's bagged>>>
when i get my kit and it's ready for fitting i gotta> gotta find the cash for bags!
this is one of the trickest mods out there way above lambo doors in my opinion, + i will definately need it due to steep incline on our drive and uk speed humps!
The kit's seem to be DIY and a reasonable mechanic should have some sucess it seems.
As for the ride i'm going for show with a stock 1.8 so I'm not all that worried about handling

Re: Baggin' it
what stopped me from getting them were just trying to get them, very few companies have kits for our cars and have no ideas about their own product, other thing was getting them into canada, insane shipping, close to 400bucks us and then all the fun duty and customs, kits running around 2500us it was just not worth it at this time.

Re: Baggin' it
hey whats up well If you are looking for a set up Im selling mine. Just because i got in a car accident and put new rims with thicker tires on and now i can't drop the car with out the tires rubbing. I have a set up from air ride technology. and i got my bags and cylinders from E.A.I. The set up from air ride. comes with a 5 gallon 10 port tank, digital display, two big red airmax air valves and a compressor. I still have the directions for the installation. Im even selling my struts along with it that way the next person really doesn't have to do to much of a mod. If you are interested just let me know

Re: Baggin' it
i was thinking about air bags. my big question is what about suspension, can you still have dampining struts i know the bags replace the springs. and will the bags cause you to have more body roll? i would like to do it but not sure about how it would effect track abilities. i would think its mostly for show.

Re: Baggin' it
Honestly i loved it. I really didn't notice a huge difference in body roll. It is more for show, but i still drove mine like i had springs on it. With the bags on the front it rode like a new car. The back is replaced by a cylinder. so everything comes out. If I wasn't strapped for cash I would keep it. Hell you can't find an AirRide tech. set up like that for less than 1000.
