easy, cheap camber fix
easy, cheap camber fix
for all of you with lowered cars suffering from camber wear on your tires... you can take about 2 degrees off the camber by:
locate the two bolts that hold the wheel assembly to the strut.
take out the top bolt.
replace it with a thinner but equally as strong (important!) bolt.
you now have a little pivot action with your wheel.
pull the top of the wheel out as far as needed and retighten the bolt(s).
i fixed nearly 3 degrees by doing this and my car is pretty low.
i know its kinda cheating, but i'm not paying 500 bucks for a camber kit. its been on there for two months now and i deliver pizzas so i put on more miles than just aobut anyone.
dave

Re: easy, cheap camber fix
wow...you just invented camber bolts.... call Mazda Motorsports, and they are dirt cheap.
Anyway, strut-suspended cars dont have too much negitive camber, and are actually quite the opposite. Using camber bolts will help you achieve negitive camber.

"camber bolts" will help you with your problem as well.
How much negitive camber do you have?

quote:
Originally posted by oo7sniper:
Actually there is a Camber " plate kit" for the MX-3. It is made by Cusco & Corksport sells them for $209. I believe Derrick said it gives up to 3 degrees posative or negative camber. By the way, in order to get a lot of camber or caster with those plates, you need to use coilovers. The stock springs are too big and will hit the inside of the strut tower if you try to max them out.
