gtx turbo manifold on sohc 1.6l mx3---no work

Post by boostedmx »

just posting this for others if they are not aware of this already. the gtx manifold will not work on the sohc mx3. I know there was some discussion on this fitting with the exception of 2 bolts. However i have tested the fit today while fitting a turbo kit for the sohc--IT DOESNT WORK. not one bit. 4 of the bolts line up but ports dont line up and the 4 bolts that do are on the far ends. just some info

it would be easier to cut the flange end off and weld that into a custom manifold (only if you plan to bolt-on the vj series turbos). shouldn't cost more than $150-200 to do.

the manifold is cast. and the ports are not even close to lining up so you cant move them around to fit. it is a waste of time if you ask me.. bad port design with welded cast,, your just asking for trouble. better offf getting one made for 100 or 200 more.
