That was the main thing. Will it allow the Check engine light to come on?

Depends on how you have it set. If you run in parallel you shouldn't have any problems, but then again, you won't know till you try. I know there is away around the check engine light by faking voltage. Running a standalone won't let you pass in Cali (from what I have been told) as you will fail the visual inspection.<P>You need to decide on what you will need from your system. The Link is very basic. The Haltech is very good although some will have different opinions on it. Personally, I am looking at a TEC-III as it is just that much beyond anything else on the market. With Shiv's kit, you basically have a direct bolt-in setup with preloaded base maps. Plus you don't have to worry about fabricating a crank trigger wheel. The E11 and TEC-III are nearly identical. Not sure if the E11 has its own coils or if you have to purchase an ignition system on it own. E6K is about $1000 if you know where to look (plus accesories), E11 starts at $1500.
