Re: 93 gs WHAT KIND OF TURBO????
Okay, lets make this simple. I never thought I'd be saying this but SEARCH. If you look in the V6 technical and Forced Induction forums you will find a lot about turning your stock engine into a 1.8L Turbo. Specifically I reccommend looking up "1.8 Turbo" using the search function. Its at the top of the page opposite the big MX-3.com logo
Re: 93 gs WHAT KIND OF TURBO????
Dood, don't be an a--. Too bad you have to go along with the other pricks on the board. If you take 2 seconds you'll realize this is his FIRST post. Maybe he doesn't see the search link. Lighten up and show respect to FELLOW newbies.<P>Hey Sik. Basically turbocahrgers are universal. You will have to figure out what kind of setup you want, what kind of HP figures you want, and MANY other variables. The K8 (Stock GS V6 Engine) can only hold about 8 psi if tuned well, and it would be VERY benneficial to intercool it. You won't want anything bigger than a T3 or else you will be either venting more boost into the exhaust or atmosphere by way of wastegate, or you will be blowing your engine up. The T3 will spool well, and also produce the right amount of boost. There is a kit by Thomas Knight Turbos, but I have heard nothing but bad things about his work. Other than that, nobody else makes a kit as far as I know. Most people opt to do an engine swap rather than boosting their K8 because a J-Spec KLZE (190-200HP, 160-190TQ) costs just about the same price as a custom "home-built" turbo setup ($1500-$2000). Figure, the K8 will only yield a maximum of 200HP under boost setting with 8PSI. The KLZE engine will give that N/A. You also have the option of the KLDE (kl-03) engine that has 160-170HP and 160TQ for around $600. Both engines will drop right in with minimal alterations. There is ALOT about this swap in the V6 FAQ, I'd check that out.<P>You can get a KLZE from many manufacturers. If you search the V6 performance area there should be alot of info about it. I dunno if you know, but there is a search link right below the "post" button. <BR>Welcome to the board, and I hope the next experiences on the board are a little more civil.<p>[ September 25, 2002: Message edited by: VizualXTC ]

I'm gonna have to agree with jesse here. He simply stated how to get the information.<P>Anyways, welcome to the board. Please read through the FAQ for lots of good information about customizing your car. The search function also gets you results quicker than posting in most cases. Good luck.

There is a search function in the upper right hand side of the screen. You can find aot of useful information by searching the appropriate forum." it would have sounded alot nicer. Am I wrong? It's now WHAT you say, it's HOW you say it. He came off sounding like he was sick of people asking questions, when he has been told to search. It takes just as much time to nice as it does to be an a--hole. Why be a jerk?

Re: 93 gs WHAT KIND OF TURBO????
on the internet, it's hard to express emotion, and the same goes for interpreting it. it was in CAPS, no biggie. the fact that he continued to tell him where to search and what to look for specifically indicates to me that he wasn't being a jerk nor an a--. if he had simply left it at the SEARCH remark, yeah, i could see your point, but he continued to help. it seems that people are continuously getting more touchy. people need to relax, it's just an internet bb.

Re: 93 gs WHAT KIND OF TURBO????
sucks when even the moderaters are agreeing with this kind of treatment. I know questions get asked over and over, some people dont see the faqs , some dont use the search...doesnt mean they cant be treated with atleast a small degree of respect

Re: 93 gs WHAT KIND OF TURBO????
Why is my character being assualted, and why doesn't someone just IM me and say "hey, tone it down". First off, I assume that if you join this board you at do some floating or whatever and read up in the FAQ section and look around a bit at the newest topics. Turbocharging comes up at least once a week with many of the same responses. Yes, there will be some saying search, and others that detail what will be necessary.<P>I have no anger against newbies, I am one. But I take the time to page through the shop manual, heavily research my latest ideas, and look localy for solutions. I agree that there should be no hating, but some people join this forum simply to ask a few stupid and repetitive questions and then possibly never return once they learn something. If you're going to do that then I think you shouldn't join.<P>The world is full is ignorance, full of A-holes, and full of a lot of things. Sometimes it spills over when it isn't meant to. I apologise if anyone took me as being rude.

Do you ever stop complaining??<P>The way that I interpreted the post in question was merely as advice. There was nothing rude about it. Hy300 was only stating that he is now realizing how the vets feel towards having to repeat themselves time and time again.<P>Here is my suggestion Ryan, quit the crying...it's getting old very fast.

Re: 93 gs WHAT KIND OF TURBO????
The original poster has been told where and how to get the required information. Clearly nothing productive can come out of this topic, as we've seen above. Also, repeated personal attacks just rub me wrong, but I guess that's cause I'm a jerk. At any rate, it'll get you banned, whether you have 1 post or 1000.
