I believe one of the Probers tried it the other way once upon a time, not sure of the results.
In order to work with our ecu, the MAF sensor must read the correct voltage, 0-5 volts. It must also operate in the correct direction, that being 0-5 or 5-0 on startup. This depends on the ecu, voltage can be found in the shop manual. The problem with the stock (flapper) style MAF is that it is the biggest restriction in the entire system. The stock MX-3 unit flows roughly 145cc, the manifold is capable of 165+cc of flow. To improve this, the 86-88 MAF from the RX-7 (non-turbo) will work - flow for that MAF is around 200cc.

I think he has a 94+ mx-3 which would mean hotwire design. I dont think he has to change to the rx type..not compatible..

In that case, you are correct. Although I imagine it is still somewhat restrictive. Not sure if the V6 hotwire is any better or if there is another that might help.

Re: Apexi S-AFC and the RS DOHC
Well I tried recirculating the air, but all I did was push the air back into the turbo and have it spin backwards.
But what I did find out that my BOV was not holding any pressure it was releasing the air no just as soon as I let off the pedal. So as soon as I get a new BOV I think this will fix the problem and the car will idle again.

No, it was just one that came with the turbo I think it was made by Ford. Just good for 8PSI. The one I got now is a Greddy Type-S for 6PSI that is adjustable I will put it on there today.
