Check out Jeff's site and read up on his supercharger Mazda Maniac , personally I think a KL-ZE swap would be more to your liking. Someone correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't it cost more to supercharge than swap ? How many miles are on your engine.. I know I wouldn't trust a SC on my old 1.8.

that swap cost me about 6000 US dollars. But about 2500 dollars was due to things I neglected and was forced to deal with at the time. Read the engine swap section for more details about the KL-ZE specs.

DAMN 6 GRAND!!!!!Jesus...who did your swap and where did you get the engine...cause that's the largest price...even at 3500...that's not that cheap...Cause I've heard engines for 1200ish...than swaps from shops around 1000...depends on welding and wiring work....so at most may be 2500.
Jman
Glad I live in the Bay Area- A lot of JDM swaps

Like I said price depends on how good of a job you want done. My KL-ZE only had 40,000 KM on it, so it was basicly new, some places sell ZE's with 60,000, and some sell them with unknown KM. if you want to take chances you can get one installed as is(no new parts) for 3,000 inclueding the engine at A-Spec in toronto.
If the thermostat is stuck and the engine over heats thats your problem. If the timing belt brakes after 5,000 KM and all your valves get bent thats your problem.
generally you get what you pay for, and if it seems too good to be true there is probably a catch.
You might want to join a MX-3 club in your area and they might be able to give you a hand if you were to do the swap your self, or recomend some one In your area that has done it befor.

a-spec is a good establishment.....and no jdm motors come with warranty and there is no way to find out how many real km's are on the motors unless the front clip is included....a-spec I imagine would check the motors and do the neccessary things to the engine...... ....check the site out for yourself www.a-spec.com....7000 is so expensive what do you charge for labor

My shop rate is $75.00/Hr.
The dodge dealer down the street is $89.50
Also its not just labour. If you read my rather long post yu would see all the things needed to do the job properly so that the engine would go around 100,000 KM with out needing any repair over changing the engine oil every 4500 KM.
If you came out to the meet in mississauga today you might have seen my car. It was the red GS KL-ZE. Other people had ZE's there as well and some had polished parts.
I got quite a few compliments on the fit and finish if the engine bay and hopfully there will be some pics up soon.
If you want a $3,000 CDN install including the engine I could probably do it but it would have to be a hood closed car and I wouldnt warranty anything once you left the shop.
Once again you get what you pay for.
