Diesel Turbo

Post by VizualXTC »

Aiight, lets see if this one will get an answer.
I recently bought a Garret TB0309 turbo from a diesel engine (I didn't realize it was a diesel when I bought it  ) I was just wondering if it would work on a gasoline engine (not my MX-3). Any help would work. thanks

A turbo doesn't know if the engine is gasoline or diesel but the waste gate (if it has an integral waste gate) setting might be a little high for gas.

I think it has an external wastegate so It should be able to be set down a little bit.

quote:
Originally posted by Stevech_2001:
I'm thinking that it might be to big for your 1.8 engine.....

Yes, I figured this too. That's why I said it'd not going on my MX-3. It's goin on my turbo pickup.
Thanks for your help guys.
