I go on streetracingonline.com and you'd be suprised how many people have tried and been screwed over by this product. you know there are electric superchargers that work, but they are used on big trucks that burn alternative fuels, and as far as i know are only used (i guess there is plumbing to vary the intake path) when the engine in actually burning the alternative fuel. The trucks normally use regular diesel, and the supercharger is required because the ethohol or whatever the alternative fuel is does not have the stored energy of diesel or the engine is not optimized for that fuel. I dont think this idea is really suited for hi-rev (compared to diesel) cars.

call me an idiot here, but i think i have a possibility that noone her has yet discussed. <P>would there be a possible way to hook up the electric supercharger to a turbo, this would reduce the lag from the turbo and add instant boost. if this was realized in the proper way, i think you'd have an easy solution to the turbo-lag problem, without adding the weight of another turbo like in the TT set-ups.

meh.... this would not work cause these things are bull s--- but atleast your thinking of ideas and s---.... but I dont think it would work or make a difference

ohh, i didn't mean this one specifically, but a different electric supercharger. this is all theory, i'm not speaking of a specific SC or a specific Turbo, bit i'm sure with a little enginuity, the two could be hybrid.

Im prone to think you would be better of tuneing a system to spool up at a lower rpm range rather than using a hybrid system. As noted ealier The extra strain on the electrical system could cost you just as much power as Could be gained, well unless you changed that all around and beefed it up but what was this about weight gain you were saying...

well, a second turbo (to spool the first) would add more weight to the vehicle. not much, but when you're trying to make a high performance vehicle, you're gonna cut the weight anywhere you can. as for the electrical system, why couldn't you use a smaller, indendant for the electric SC. of course, it'd have to be in tune with everything else. i'm not saying i have all the answers here, i'm by far not an engineer, but i think a hybrid could work. after all... isn't the engine itself hybrid? we use an electrical system to start it, and then it converts to gas after it fires.
