Need advice...b6t turbo manifold on my dohc four

Post by cjthor »

Hey all,
I am thinking about swapping exhaust manifolds on my stock mx engine for now with the b6t turbo and manifold. How many psi can the stock engine take? I know I have to change injectors and bump the timing back.I still dont have the afc wired correctly but that wont be an issue soon. Any thoughts or suggestions?

i wanna do the same thing to my SOHC. dave said our blocks could hold 10 psi (but i think after long that would start to break stuff)but i'm gonna only run mine at like 7 . i think it would be alot cheaper to do than a swap but the 1/4 times won't be as impressive, but hey im sure it'll be quick enough. also, i thought our cars had a thing where u couldn't adjust the timing? how does one do it if we can?
this guy did the swap on his DOHC: http://www.geocities.com/bat_elof/mx.html
[ February 16, 2002: Message edited by: Shady469 ]

if you want to do the swap this way make sure you go stand alone not piggy backs you will be able to do more on the stock eternals. An mx-5 owned by Ric Stephens ran 10.80 at 126 mph at 25lbs of boost on a 1.8 n/a motor stock eternals but a stand alone system the copmression ratio will be able to help you. go for it

Hey there tex,
I am actually only doing this as a temporary swap. I am not going to keep the stock block. I do have a b6t that I am going to use. Did you put your stand alone in by yourself? I actually need some pin locations on the ecu. Can you tell me where the tac input is and also where the +maf signal is? THanks!!!!
quote:
Originally posted by texmx3:
if you want to do the swap this way make sure you go stand alone not piggy backs you will be able to do more on the stock eternals.
