depends on the actual specs of the turbo...once you have those, you can figure out the actual properties that the turbo will have with a particular engine.

Re: T3/T4 Hybrid Question

As a general (VERY general) rule of thumb, a 1.6 engine can't do much with anything bigger than a T3-type turbo. The T3/T04 hybrid is for higher boost applications where the limits of the T3 will certainly be reached. Or, better yet, where you know that you're going to really be at the limits of a T3 constantly. You would be better off running the Hybrid for those situations.
If you know you plan to be at more than 7PSI of boost on a normal driving day, you need something that will last and be able to spool up quicker like a T3/T4 Hybrid. Any more detailed information you may need gets very scientific and full of complex math equations that are beyond me.
I personally don't know if my T3/T4 Turbonetics turbo will will work properly on a stock 1.6 SOHC engine. It's one of the experiments that I'm currently working on (http://www.fbassociates.com/mx3). I have good information that it does and will out-last a T3 in such a configuration. The only recommendation to me has been to change the pistons because my engine has more than 100K miles on it. A set of forged Arias pistons will be a nice addition of assurance that nothing will go wrong in there.
Go for the Hybrid.
RF
[ January 21, 2002: Message edited by: renef ]

it was a massive custom turbo, and he was spraying as well to get the 550hp. figure around 450-480hp without the nitrous.
I forget which turbo he used, but ive seen pictures, and it was MASSIVE, along with a HUGE FRONT mount. Remember he also had a BPT, which will make more power than the B6T.

Dude, life happened, sh*t happened. Still sitting on my turbo kit. The project is halted. I need to get a second car before continuing. I'm getting a bit annoyed at the delays. But one of them was a medical issue.
I want an RX7. That should keep me entertained for a few months...

quote:
Originally posted by Tyranos The Great:

Hey Rene!
