MX3's are unrecognizable to lots of ppl

Post by Gro Harlem »

WTF...some guy thought my car was a porsche the other day. This isn't the first time this has happened.

removing all of the emblems and badging probably throws people off. I've gone down to the races in Baltimore and had people come up asking what the hell kind of car it was....people who seemed to know their stuff otherwise.

Anyone else have someone mistaken their car for something else?

The first day I drove my mx3 to high school, people asked if it was a brand new 2000 model. I've even had someone come up to me in a parking lot and ask what model porsche it was.

Yea, when i was at the races this weekend the anouncer stated while I was on the Line "I don't really know what kinda car that is, but I think its a mazda" then before I start he stated "Ladies and Gentalmen, for those that don't know, that car is actually a mazda MX-3, we don't see those too often"

I had a guy at work ask me if my car was a Porsche. It doesn't surprise me though because I never knew what an MX-3 was until I met the owner of one.

ive had many homegirls and even their parents think my mx-3 was new (after lowering and putting on new wheels/tires w/ black interior). pretty cool cause there's a lot of ppl who like to come up asking about what kind of car it is and such.

The styling is still very fresh even to this day, so a well maintained one can definitely appear to be a current model. Definitely doesn't look like something designed 13 years ago.

Hard to think our cars are that old really, they still have quite a modern look to them considering the age.
When I told my mate's I was getting one, they hadnt seen one and thought they were a smaller virsion of the MX5. Quite wrong.
To be honest I hadnt really noticed them until my dad pointed one out to me when I was on the look out for a new car, you dont see too many in the UK, so makes them pretty unique.

Ones I got pulled over in middle of PA on my way to Canadia in some town called "New" Philadelphia by some idiot cops who never seen a car with rims and tinted windows before. And as they doing id check, one of the cops was like......"So is this the new Cavalier?" That made me so mad >_<!!!!!. Other time cop ran around my car twice trying to figure out what car it was, and when I told him, he radioed in "Black Mazda "R"x-3".....I was like....... :confused2: . And to this day not one mechanic could figure out what car it was without asking me
