that's funny because if that were true, everyone would be driving a honda. almost all the bumpers available for the mx-3 and kits were ALREADY on a honda car before.. even the new 'widebody' kit coming.. the new kit that jon had on his car, that evo front was already on many other cars. its really stupid to say that the mods on our cars are 'unique' and hasn't been done on any other car before.. our cars dont have many options available and probably never will be because of the fact that people don't want a certain kit for their car because its been on a 'honda' before. thats why people have to go custom like bluemx3 here.
anyway, what gen civic did you get the kit off of. i agree with kevin you'll have to bring it to a pro if you don't know what you're doing. personally i think its great that you're molding the real blitz bumper on. if you need anymore help, feel free to post and dont let anyone make you feel stupid for custom work.
in my experience, if the bumper is too wide you can cut the bumper in the exact middle and then take both pieces and shave off a few millimeters on both halfs until it fits perfectly, then fiberglass back together or bodyfiller. then you'll have to shave the top grill area until it fits flush and cut the headlight area and use wiremesh frame, bodyfiller, fiberglass, whatever you want to fill in the huge gaps until everything is flush and smooth with the headlights (high quality bodyfiller is crucial for this part). the last and probably most hardest part is fabricating brackets to mount the bumper to the frame and bumper reinforcement. shouldn't be too hard if you can find some nice 18-20 gauge aluminum and cut in strips and can drill a hole and bend the strips to whatever you need. i would recommend pre-made brackets for other things that you can somehow fit into your project.
