remember Brians car on fast and the furious? his 2nd one, that was orange. Well it had a targa roof (t-tops) A good shot of them are during the scene where he saves vince off the truck.

if ur thinkin of doin it to a mx-3....sweet. i thought of it and wanted to do it but did more reasearch after i was suggested not to from a previous post i had made on opinions on it, and well, if you are looking to put balls in the car it will be unsafe. also you are changing the cog. it will be a cool mod and a tight as looking on too so if you do do it, good luck and i want to see that puppy!
i got a 90 pgt...but wish it was a mx-3 bp-t!

it may look cool but I would think that the structure of the car would be damaged. I have noticed on a previous car that we had a targa from the factory, that when the targa is off there is more twisting in the body, because the car did not have that additional support in the middle.

targa top link from feb 2003
A few of the Quebec guys have done this.
All you really need is to rip everything out of your car. Weld 1" round bar to the frame longitudinally. Use a roll cage as well. That's all for support. Then put your targa and cover and other mouldings back.
one

that link was about a convertable MX-3 not a targa....and targa and t-top is a different thing. The t-top has two seperate panels that come off and leave a single beam connecting the roof and the windshield. The Targa is similar but one panel and has nothing connecting the roof to the windhsield.
