neon underbody kit

Post by hotsiit »

hey all, I might be able to get a neon underbody kit for real cheap, i just have some questions before i decide if i should buy it. Anyone with a neon kit on their car, was it hard to install and is there room under the car so the tubes wont be noticable unless turned on? any info you could provide me would be greatly appreciated, thanks alot
chris 93RS

i don't know about room or anything, but i'd say just look underneath it and find a place to put it. my friend did it on his accord and they looked sweet for about 2 weeks and then water ran into the tubes somehow and they stopped working. i think he banged them or kicked up a rock or something and broke the seal. so just make sure they are in a SAFE place.

I am thinking of putting neon lights under my car but everyone keeps telling me they will break to easily, I'm not sure I want to spend a lot of money on them if they won't even last too long.

thats not true, unless you drive over a curb or sumthing substantial like you wont have a problem at my shop we install them all the time an to date the only person to brake a tube was my friend who kicked it. so you will be fine :) :D

Hey
I have blue neon under my car and yes it was fairly hard to install it took about 7 hours( Including a couple trips to get more parts) I had to take off the back bumper and grind some peices so that the bulb would fit. Otherwise it looks great, and I payed $140 CND for my kit.
Dean
PS Before you go and buy a kit now just remeber that you HAVE to take off the kit before there is any snow on the ground.

it took you 7 hours are you nuts it takes like an hour at the most and you dont have to take the rear bumper off or grind any thing. what extra parts did you need. lets see the kits usually come with four tubes and 8 plastic mounting clips 10 screws and the transformer for the neons. now if you needed more than that i think you went a little overboard. and to install it all you do is mount the two long tubes one to each side and the two short tubes one to the front and one to the back and then connect the wires in order. when you get to the front corner where you mounted the transformer you attach one of the wires from the side tube and one from the back tube and then power and ground it and saulder all the connections and that is it nothing more nothing less!!!!!!!!!!!!!
