Post by luvmymx3 »

hey everybody back to ask for help with timing now. i have a question basically about how to properly set it and also how to put the rotor in the proper way cause it can go 3 different ways and i am not sure at all how to do the distributor timing and ignition timing. i can do the timing of the belt on point but dont know that much about distributor or ignition timing the help would be appreciated. thanx

The rotor can only go on one way. If it goes on three ways there is something very wrong.

To set the timing warm the car up.
Shut it off.
jump the ten + gnd pins in the diagnostic conenctor next to the brake brake booster under the hood.
start it up again, if you've jumpered the connector correctly the fan will cycle on a for a second when you turn the key on.
Use a timing light and set the timing to 10 degrees btdc, its marked on the timing belt cover.
