car wont start, fans come on

hello

im having trouble starting the car. the engine seems to be turning over but wont start. when i stop cranking, the fans immediately come on.

the other week i seem to have had a problem with the little black switch, i think its the thermoswitch near the radiator fill cap. i unplugged it and the car started the first time. now it wont start anymore. ne1 seen this problem before?

If you disconnect the harnass on that sensor the fans will stay on but shouldn't keep the car from starting. Also if you move the TPS too much one way the fans will come on. What else have you changed?

well the car seems to be running now
so heres the scoop.

when that switch went bad the black switch was unplugged and left unplugged to try and trick the car. it worked and we drove away. later on when we tried to start the car again, it would crank, but no spark and no fuel.

i got the new switch in and installed it yesterday, then disconnected the battery. it seems that the ecu may have some safety feature if the car thinks its overheated? neway i think the ecu reset and now seems to be working since the new switch was installed. ill post back if it wont start again. thanx alot

sounds almost like the problem im having (no spark but fuel...i think) except the fans dont come on and i have a CEL code 04 (ne1 crank angle sensor).i got a new disty and new ecu still the same problem no idea in the world what it can be
