oil pan
I went under my car to change the oil for the first time since i bought it a couple months ago and i saw something i consider to be strange. The oilpan had a big patch on it and there was an electrical cord (wall plug in type) running underneath the patch into the oil pan. The electrical cord then ran up to the front of the car and was held in place behind the front bumper like a block heater. Any ideas what this might be? mabye an oil heater in the oil pan or something?

Re: oil pan
i don't have a digital camera right now but I can describe it. the patch is about 4" by 4" or bigger. Out of the rear side of the patch comes an electrical cord which runs to a plug in that hangs by the front bumper. I don't know if the plug goes into the oilpan or is just a heating element applied to the bottom of the pan but there is oil on the bottom of the pan. it's wet to the touch, but i've never seen a drop of oil on the ground below it. It's probably just a heater for the oil cause it gets fairly cold sometimes up her in North alberta.

They were quite popular in UK a long time ago, but modern multigrades made them less beneficial. But in Alberta in winter - seems like a good idea - easier starting and less wear.

Re-shaped and re-sized gearshift lever. Best driveability mod you can do!

Re: oil pan
That may be, but you should not be having oil on the outside of the pan no matter what that patch is! BTW, NOFX kicks *** , nice name.
