help w/ A/F gauge

Post by NateDog »

hey i just installed my A/F gauge and when i turn on my car the gauge goes from lean to hi ideal and back, constantly. this is at idle speed. when i start to move the gauge is maxed out on rich. when i let off the gas all the lights go out for a few seconds then it startes back w/ the lean to ideal thing again. is this normal? please help me w/ this problem.

the a/f gauge is going to max out when you first get going cause the car is meant to drive rich until its at operating temperature. Sounds like the o2 sensor you have hooked to the gauge needs to be replaced.

theres no problem with your a/f thats normal. When ever u just start a car the o2 sensor needs some time to warm up before u get a correct reading. Now while you drive and u let go of the gas the light should drop down to lean and also the light goes out for a few seconds until u press the gas again. Thats how mines goes.

its suppose to sway.. When u stomp the gas if it doesnt go to rich then u have a problem..but when your driving it goes back and forth..
