RAM Air Idea?
Re: RAM Air Idea?
Sounds good.... You should come to one of the Austin Meets we will have in the future.. Justin and I had one a few weeks back... Just watch the MX=3 Meets Thread...
Re: RAM Air Idea?
A while back someone with an eclipse nt made a ram air with the same basic design. He got 1 psi of boost at 115 mph or somewhere around that speed. It might work as a decent intake but it wont make boost.

Re: RAM Air Idea?
Sure it does 1psi @ 115mph
and it costs you nothing, thats free power flying by a you drive. It might give you 5-10hp at 100mph which is more than most bolt ons
13.023 @ 105 mph

Some people in this thread sound more like they're making an advertisement than a suggestion. I put my 2cents in a while back and I will just restate it because of all the new additions to this thread.
Two intakes + Piping = Wasted Money!
There is no possible way two intakes will draw in equal amounts of air unless you go through the process of making the piping length to each intake the same. In addition, any air drawn through the intakes will inevitably be restricted by the VAF.
The only reason any psi was produced at 115mph was because at that speed the VAF was fully open and the intake (obviously drawing from outside the engine bay) was taking in air at such speed that it created 1psi. Any intake will eventually draw 1psi at some speed. I doubt two intakes instad of one helped.
