I had the sasme problem. Check the Water/rad fulid mixture. You will have to go to Canadian Tire or some place like that and get a Rad Mixture reader ( its pretty cheap) about $10 max. Then take a sample of your coolent, and it will tell you what temp. it is good for. Sound like you dont have the correct mixture.
Is the fan working?
I know you said you replaced the thermostat
but if the fan is working thats what it sounds like the problem is.
Water to antifreeze mixture is not a big factor when it comes to heat. you could have all of one or the other and still get heat.
not that its good for the motor.
You could feel the heater hoses that go into the firewall to see if there hot.
There is a small possibility that someone (previous owner) blocked off the heater core because of a leak. I have done this before on one off my cars, just keep in mind I live in south Florida and heat is not something we worry about.
Andy P. 93 GS
HAHAHAHAH!!! DUDE!!! you in Fol!!! heat doesnt matter to you. Ilive in winnipeg, Mb, Canada. Its get down to -35 c. THAT COLD DUDE. Trust me that coolent mixture is a HUGE factor. The fan only cool the engine and tries to keep the rad and fulid cool. The coolent need to warm up and be hot for the fan to work!!
I was talking about the blower motor for the dash fan, not the radiator fans.
I know mixture matters, I was just saying that whatever the mixture you should get heat.
Andy P. 93 GS
Hey guy I know they all covered the normal problems that cause this no heat factor of yours but wanted to add my own. I also had no heat and the problem was an air duct that runs inside the car (under center dash) had fallen off. worth a check huh.
