K&N filter Question.....

Post by MX-3 Lover »

Okay, I'm going to buy a K&N cone filter for my 92 GS. It's going to be bolted straight to the MAF where the air Box is.
What I'm wondering is:
What size is that MAF?
What size K&N Filter do I need? Cone size and clamp rubber size?<p>
I just need to bolt it to there for now. Then in the summer I'm going to custom make some Tubing and make a proper air intake.
Thanks for the help.
P.S: If anyone wants to part with one and live in the T.O area, let me know, I may be interested. I'm in Oshawa.
Thanks again.

Any cone filter will work as long as it has the standard 3" round opening. You will need an adapter that goes from your square MAF opening to the round one. If you want an example of what that looks like go on corksport or ebay.

He said it was a GS so the intake on the MAF is round... a three inch inlet cone filter will fit no problem...do yourself a favor and buy K&N the rest are just crap.

That is not true that everything besides K&N are crap. I have a Ractive Heat Shield filter and personally I think it's great. And the purpose is to replace the stock air filter, thus allowing more air into the engine, improving performance, and getting a much better sound at the same time.
