my engine doesnt start! PLZ help
hi people!<BR>last night i tried to paint my instrument cluster, and i took the dash apart, i disconnected the wires and took a look @ my cluster, and when i put it back these are the stuff that are not workin!:<BR>( this is a 94 GS manual, the base model with no sunroof)<BR>1.the fuel indicator<BR>2.The speedometer<BR>3.the engine doesnt start, what happens is i can turn on anything in my car, but when i try to start the engine it wont do it! i have to push the car and kickstart it basically.<P>and by da way my car has an alarm that will disable the engine!<P>any help would be greatly appreciated!<BR>Thanx again<BR>Kevin K

You've probably not connected something, or broken a wire somewhere. The best you can do is to get an auto electrician to go over it for a hefty price, or you can try and analyse it yourself. If you dont know how to do this, it would be best to get it done professionaly.<P>Things dont end nicely if you short an unfused +12V line to ground.

What was the condition of the battery BEFORE you did this?<P>Have you tried another battery from another vehicle (you seem to have several)?<P>Did you try jump starting it from another vehicle?<P>Do you have any blown fuses?<P>I'm mentioning obvious stuff since you didn't mention whether or not you had looked at the obvious stuff.

One day my car wouldn't start either, but everything worked - just not the starter. So I could push start it. Turned out my car alarm had malfuntioned and imoobilised the thing. <P>Might pay to check if you have one?
