How do I reset the ECU?

Post by dorin »

I was thinking of trying to experiment with different octane gas and I'd like to reset the ECU in order to get a good feel of what's going one. How do I do it? (Dave, any hints?)
Some say to do it overnight but I think thats a little on the long side....
quote:
Originally posted by dorin:
I was thinking of trying to experiment with different octane gas and I'd like to reset the ECU in order to get a good feel of what's going one. Even easier than that:
Pull the fuse marked BTN in the main fuse box under the hood and then step on the brakes for about 15 seconds.
Then put the fuse back in.
That's it.
------------------
Jeff Abrams
jeff@mazdamaniac.com
SUPERCHARGED 2.5 liter 1993 Mazda MX-3 GS
http://www.mazdamaniac.com
Normally aspirated 1997 Mazda MX-5 Miata
