keyless entry installation - wiring question
keyless entry installation - wiring question
I installed keyless entry system (one of those DIY project which took me half day to install, which they claimed 20 minutes project). Anyway, it works fine, and my question is which wire does the flashing rear brake light or headlight? I believe it's like when you lock/unlock the door, the light flushes, and I wonder which wire does that.
Re: keyless entry installation - wiring question
uhm, If I'm understanding correctly, your keyless entry should flash the /parking/ lamps, if anything.
If your system does not flash anything at all when operated, you should have a look at the wiring diagram for the unit and see if the unit is capable of indicating operation modes first.
If your system /is/ flashing parking lamps or whatever else it's wired to do, and you just want to know which wire it's connected to, The brake lights are turned on by sending 12v to the green wire at a switch on top of the brake pedal. The headlights are operated by sending 12v to a blue wire with a yellow stripe (blu/yel) on the white connecter wrapped around the base of the steering column.
Unsure of your technical expertise, just for clarity, the unit itself tells the lights to flash. If you simply send power to these connections, the specified circuit will stay on, not flash.
