Help!!! The stereo isn't making any sound :(

Hi everyone,<BR>I've recemtly got an mx-3, it's got a tape deck with single cd player (all stock). The problem is the tape deck seems to be functioning OK but there's no sound from the speakers and the cd player isn't showing any signs of life at all!!! The speakers are all there and connected. What could be wrong with it? Also what's the small box called ctr-speaker control for? I found it under the stereo.<P>advice would be very much appreciated, thanx<BR>Rufus
