Port position in Sub enclosure
Port position in Sub enclosure
For those of you who replied to my last post on this topics, thanx.
I decided to go with a ported design box and have completed most of the box, just need to cut the face/baffle piece and then cut holes for the subs.
1. where is a good place for the ports to go? on the face with the subs or should I put them on top so they fire more into the cabin?
2. I have 2 MTX 4000thunder 12" coming and was wondering what size to cut the holes for them or should I just wait for them to arrive and then go from there.
Thanx again

Actually, the kewl thing about MTX is they will tell you how big the ports should be, where they should be located, and how long they should be. Also I believe it's an 11 3/4" hole for the subwoofer. I think you should actually aim the ports in the same direction that thge subs fire so they don't cross paths and cause cancelation.

Re: Port position in Sub enclosure
yeah I decided on that because I realized the ports had to be about 11.5 inches long plus needed some clearance from the side so the base is longest and I decided to put them on the front.
