Then you say you personally do it for a completely different reason.
Ah, pull people over, not street racing. I gotta admit I'm suprised thats how you read it... Be pretty dumb to accuse the police of street racing.
Again, where does it say in my post I pull over law abiding Asains?
Ah, nowhere I can see
I stated that the Asian gang community drive a lot of the modified import vehicles. Hence this vehicle is most of the time modified.
I agree, most modified import vehicles are modified. Sorta goes without saying. Doesn't mean your a violent Asian gang member though just because you drive one.
Thus giving me a reason to stop and make contact with the Asian gang community. These gang members are very violent and dangerous.
But how do you know they are violent Asian gang members until you pull them over? Your clear indication is that you use street racing as the excuse for pulling them over when you admit you are doing it for a different reason altogether. Don't know thats the type of admission you should be making in a public forum like this.

In your first sentence tying modified cars to street racing I assumed you meant all police departments, thats why I assumed the SDPD were using street racing as an excuse as well - not the real reason for stopping motorists.
If I said it before I will say it again, Show me where in my post I stated that cops can do street racing and no one else can?
You don't say it anywhere nor are you accused of it. Why do you say this? Do you hope people won't read the previous posts so you can feel indignant at being wrongly accused?
Like it says in my post a lot of people are getting hurt during these events. So, therefore, it needs to be delt with.
But who is? You admit you don't pull over modified cars because of street racing. You just use it as an excuse. Scary really.

Bryan I am certainly not belittling law enforcement. Can you please give me an example where I have? I think if you knew me I would be one of the last people you could accuse of that.

I also haven't formulated what you obviously consider a negative opinion of you at all, all I've done is question the tactics of using a safety issue like street racing as an excuse to pull over modified vehicles for the police's other agendas. You admit this is what happens. How many tickets do you write out for illegally modified cars? Pulling them over because of modifications is obviously a means to an end.

And yes, call me a pompous arse if you like but its my opinion people should take responiblity for their actions and not blame their dad (you may be "cool" about that but I don't have to be). As a police officer I'm sure you understand where responsibilities lie in these areas. I also don't think people should say they hate the goverment and accuse them of giving each other handjobs (I guess he included you in this as a govt. employee). I also don't appreciate the borderline Nazi comments about being charged for having blue eyes.

And no matter how many times I read this I can't see where I accused you of anything you didn't say you did.

So put me down as a pompous arse and someone who needs things spelled out. You think I know fcuk nothing, but maybe I know FCUK ALL! (Ah thats a joke.) :D So lighten up a bit, this stuff about eating guns and violent Asian gang members shouldn't be on this board at all. For that matter neither should blaming the cops, blaming your dad or hating the goverment. So I'll say what I said ages ago, maybe this thread should be deleted.

I don't agree with the fact that these subjects should not be mentioned on this forum. After all this post was listed in the "Other Non-MX-3 Related Discussion Forums".

But hey I will take your suggestion. Therefore, I have deleted all the post that I replied to which has nothing to do with the original thread.

There are so many difference of opinions when it comes to Police. I made the mistake of attempting to explain why other Officers do what they do and why it is what I do in my field.

I know why I make the decisions I make and have no problem explaining in a report and on the stand as to my actions. I just will never attempts this again in thsi forum.

But anyone can feel free to ask me questions and I will give you the best answer/opinion I can based on my experiences.

Ok, try this one that seemed to throw you off the deep end and was the only question I asked and somehow started you having a go at me and calling me names:
So what your really saying is the street racing angle is purely for the cops PR, but gives open slather for the cops to carry out other agendas?

***(sigh)***

Here is what I look at. I go into an area where there has been an increase in gang activity.

Based on my traing and experience I know that some of these gang memeber drives modified import cars.

I am crusing through the neighborhood and see a modifed import. Inside there is three Asian males who avoid eye contact with me.

I drive behind them and low and behold they have a modified exhaust. Well, this is violation of the Vehicle Code and I make a stop. The legal name and reason for this stop is called "Pre Texted Stop".

Upon stopping the vehicle I find one of them on Parole for a weapons violaions. I search the vehicle and find a loaded Glock .40 and crystal meth inside. I also find out they were on their way to do a drive by on a rival gang.

Ok, let's turn it around.

I stop the vehicle but it is three Asian males on their way to the store. I check the driver and occupants identity and all come back clear. The Driver also has a valid drivers license. I say thank you and to drive carefully as I hand him back his driver's license.

Now, let say I am motor unit. I am in my briefing and my Sgt. tells the briefing there is a rise in street racing. Just last night five people were killed when a vehicle lost controlled during an illegal street race.

The Sgt. says the dept is going to do a crack down on street racing. We can't seem to catch them in the act because they have look outs.

We are told to go out and handle this problem by attemping to stop the problem before it arises. So the unit goes out and begins to stop those who have modified imports and giving tickets. Hopefully this will discourage street racing.

Will it, probably not, but it is what police do. We try to improve your quality of life, by attmping to arrest, cite, tow or what ever else.
So what your really saying is the street racing angle is purely for the cops PR, but gives open slather for the cops to carry out other agendas?
I don't understand what you mean by "cops PR". Nor do I understand what you mean regarding about carring out other agendas. Can you explain in a little more detail?

Little late for this but I figure i'd toss it out there regardless.

When you received this notice in the mail stating you were fined $1,200, why would you go and pay it right off the bat? Even if you are guilty, you are still entitled to a fair trial. In other words, you were found guilty of a couple of violations without a defense on your part.

What you should have done instead of dishing out the cash was take the fines to court, re-open the case and appeal the conviction based on the fact that you were not given a fair trial. This would have bought you almost 1 year before appearing in court and/or paying the fines.

you know you can dispute a charge right?

So you don't understand the question. So why did you fly off the handle and start calling me names then? You accuse me of being a pompous arse, so slow that things need to be spelled out to me and incapable of understanding what you are trying to say. All because I asked you to confirm a couple of statements I know no cop would say in a world wide forum like the internet. Who knows, you may be right. Maybe I’m missing something here I’m too slow to pick up on. But I’m certainly not too slow to pick up on the indications that you are no cop – you have no cop culture at all – and if you are you’re a very very poor one.

Now look, there is no way you’re a cop. Cops don’t come on bbs like this and bigshot about being in specialized units, using vehicle modifications to “get close to” violent Asian gang members who are very dangerous, mates eating their guns (last night too what a coincidence), or open invitations to take civilians along for rides while they’re on patrol. Nor do they admit they use a safety issue like street racing as an excuse to pull people over. Cops aren’t that dumb.

So sigh away as much as you like, you answered the question. Its all I ever asked for. It was a genuine question and I didn't ask to be attacked by you. Pretty ordinary stuff from someone who says he represents the Police.
