Re: WTB Red gs body parts - Toronto area

I'll let you know once I see how much paint will cost locally. I'm 1/2 hour east of TO - what would be half way for you?
Thanks.

Re: intake gains on your cars

MOSES, I hope I don't dampen your enthusiasm, but you will have to do some studying - there are so many things you read or hear that are inaccurate or completely false.

First of all, most mods improve power on a level best expressed by a percantage - perhaps someone could gain 30 hp on a 300+hp ...

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare

OK, here is the conclusion of my ball joint saga...
I got the correct part (I had to buy a pinch bolt - the one that came off my left ball joint had massacred threads, and unlike the cheap NAPA part, the Mazda ball joint does not come wiht new hardware...go figure, it only costs twice as much ...

Re: Rusty Door Frames...suggestions please

CRAP! Thanks for the input... as you can imagine, that was kinda what I feared...Was it very expensive? I imagine any time the terms "custom made" comes into play, it usually means "cost a lot"...

Mine look to be pretty eaten...I'm afraid I may have a similar thing in my future.

Thanks a lot ...

Rusty Door Frames...suggestions please

As the subject states - The black parts of my door frames (near the B-pillar) are pretty severely afflicted with rust. Fromwhat I see, this is a pretty common problem on these cars. Mine has popped up really quickly and in great amounts - so its not just some simple, cosmetic surface rust problem ...

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare

OK - I got the parts, by eyeball they seem to be the right ones...But the weather has conspired to keep me from putting the m in - its been pi$$ing down rain here for days (of course it clears up once I finally decide that its going to rain all day and postpone the work...).

I figure once I have ...

Re: Problem: Oil on valve cover

Practically anyone I have ever spoken to with any of these mazda v6's - any size, any car - has had the same problem I have - oil pooling in the spark-plug wells, due to the $h!tty valve cover gasket these things are "blessed" with. But be that as it may, I have never heard of oil shooting out of ...

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare

Thanks again for your responses - all the help is very much appreciated!

Yes, I was told of the VIN break - my car is early (that is why I posted what I remembered of the last 6 figures of my vin ).

I guess I just know that in my work, whatever it has been, I try to know these types of things ...

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare

Thank you!!! I can't tell you guys how much that helps!

Tues. morning I will go out ang get those. Thanks again to all who helped out, I'm very grateful! Thanks!

Re: PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare

Thanks for your help, I don't know if there are O'Riley stores in Canada - but maybe that part number will help - perhaps it cross-refferences with something? Worth a try.
The part I got from Mazda was a lot closer than the others, but there was no way to spread the clamp-portin enough to accept ...

Re: 205/55/15?

Well, lets see:
205/55-15 is the stock size on the GS (V6 cars)
There is a huge array of tires to choose from:
V rated performance tires from Kumho (711&712), Toyo, Pirelli, Dunlop, Falken...oh well, a bunch anyway, and at least a couple Z rated (one all seazon - Dunlop). Hit TireRack, search and ...

PLEASE help! Ball Joint Search Nighmare

Please help! I need to replace the ball joints on my 1992 MX-3 GS (V6) vin ends with 130xxx if that helps...The problem:
NAPA gave me a ball joint with the pin that fits into the hub assembly which is too thick and too short. I went back furious (not the first time I got the wrong parts...but that ...

Re: Starting Problems - Pls Help

The motor is on the outs as soon as $$$ permits to make room for a 2.5. Appearance is not an issue. I'm still doing my research, thinking Millenia Miller Cycle... Hmmm(yes, Iknow that its not a 2.5 but it has the positive pressure)
