Holy crap! I can't believe my username still works! Anyway, I'm finally moving out for college and discovered something while going through my Eagle Talon parts: My Cork Sport Side Skirts from my MX-3.
They are in great condition (no dings or chips) and are painted yellow. They were never mounted ...

Re: Why are some rims labeled as "Race only?"
Protege:<P>I see you have an AW20 Mr-2. My friend is about to leave town and move so I'm getting his non working N/A 86 MR-2. This is going to be more of a side project but I'm looking to make this a neat little drift/autocross car. Yea, yea, MR setups aren't the best for drifting (and the snap ...

Why are some rims labeled as "Race only?"
Read the above. I can't find anything on the internet about this so please enlighten me.<BR> <A HREF="http://www.machiii.net/machiii/html/wheels/Rota_Slipstream.html" TARGET=_blank>http://www.machiii.net/machiii/html/wheels/Rota_Slipstream.html</A> <P>I want them but they always have the label "race ...

Re: busted strut?
Is it a popping or clicking noise? And did you put a set of springs on at the time? I don't know about MX-3's but I know some cars (mainly ones with a Macpherson suspension setup, I.E new Civics, mid 90's 626s, Preludes, etc) give off a loud popping noise into turns while the springs "settle."<P>Or ...

Re: SOHC fires and dies. (help)
"It is running open header right now, not sure of the affect that no backpressure would have on this motor. Could be that the exhaust valves aren't closing quick enough, basically allowing air to blow thru. This leads me back to the timing being off."<P>That sounds like it might be our problem. Is ...

Re: venting bov into maf intake stream?
"You are right and wrong. The closing of the throttle plate doesn't damage the turbo per say. The BOV is there to protect the turbo and yes it is there to ensure the turbo keeps spinning in the right direction. The closing of the throttle plate forces all the "boosted" air to bounce off the plate ...

Re: venting bov into maf intake stream?
"Routing the BOV discharge back to the suction of the turbo is taking the hight turbo discharge pressure to an area of<BR>low pressure, namely, the suction of the turbo. Routing the discharge between the MAF/VAF and Turbo suction prevents an overly rich condition that would be present if the air ...

Re: venting bov into maf intake stream?
"I'm not that well aquainted with forced induction and I plan on getting the BPT swap in 2-3 months on my RS. So far this message board has given me all I need to start off. My only question (Excuse my ignorence) but with the blow of valve being used to release pressure that builds up and causes to ...

Re: 4-puck isn't that bad
Good ol' FWD trannies....less to break. ^_^<P>Which ACT is it? Because the 2100 4 pucks are actually nicer on a tranny than the heavy duty 3100 street clutches (why someone would need 3100 pounds of clamping force for a street car is beyond me; I mean, people run 10's on the 2800/Stage 3s)<P>But be ...

Re: to succesfully lower your car
I don't know if anyone told you this but anything lower than 1.5 inches on the front end will require a camber kit for the front(I'm guessing since the MX is somewhat lightweight) The back end can probably take 1.75 or so.<P>Despite what people say you do not "need" one. Just be prepared to go ...

Re: Compressor Maps
All the DSM guys are dropping their Frank 5+'s and 20G's and swearing that these turboes are gods in themselves. I just can't believe it when I see the maps. They damn well better be good for the price(the 550 HP L2R is around $1400)

Re: venting bov into maf intake stream?
Cody:<P>I understand how you could think that. But you left out the most important part. AFTER the filter is the MAS (Mass Airflow Sensor) <P>Not that I want to sound patronizing but that reads quite well for itself. It is a Sensor that measures the incoming Mass Airflow. RIGHT after the filter your ...

David:<P>emissions are killing off most new cars. The 240sx was discontinued in 2002 in Japan because the sr20det can no longer meet Japan's emmisions (yet it can meet the stricter ones of Australia) As for the WRX here we got a HEAVILY detuned version of what the japanese have. If it wasn't for the ...
