Re: need help
An idle that oscillates like this is a sign of air leaking past a closed throttle plate or a mis-adjusted throttle position sensor.
Have you cleaned the throttle body with carb cleaner recently? Have you played with the idle air screw? Is the throttle closing completely? Has the TPS been replaced ...

Re: Please answer my question...
Believe it or not, you might want to check the coolant level and make sure it's topped up. If the coolant chamber in the throttle body is not full of coolant, the cold idle can do crazy things. People who do the "coolant bypass mod" often experience nutty idles.
I assume you've seen no check ...

Re: Just a little question on some emission stuff
You passed with flying colours. The HC values are measured as PPM - parts per million. The Arizona limit allows for 220 parts per million unburnt hydrocarbons in the exhaust and your car is emitting just 20ppm. The limit for carbon monoxide (CO) is measured as a percentage of the exhaust gas. They ...

Re: No Spark after Compression test
Did you disconnect power to the coil during the compression test? If not, the coil (or igniter for that matter) may have been damaged.

Re: Advance Timing Help
The goal of advancing the timing is to maximize cylinder pressure when the crank pin sweeps past TDC: the higher the pressure here, the more work is done on the piston on the way down on the power stroke. Usually, running advanced timing will require the use of knock-resistant (read "high octane ...

Re: VAF - correct name
Didn't we just have a thread arguing about this and the semantics of MAF/VAF comparisons?
A 'VAF', as used by Mazda in the MX-3, is a "Volume Air Flow" sensor. This site's own on-line shop manual calls it that and, FWIW, so does my 1994 Mazda MX6 shop manual and my 1993 Ford Probe shop manual.
