I've been registered here for 4 years, and posted all of 14 times. You think I give a rat's a-- about my post count?

Re: Axles not prying out, am I overlooking something?
Sorry, meant to say a wrecking bar, not a pry bar.
one of these: http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-55-104-36 ... B0009UFJAW using the pointy end.

Re: Axles not prying out, am I overlooking something?
Just got mine out using a 3 foot long pry bar. Went in front the top. The trick was to get in just around "11 oclock" using the web of the casting as a leverage point. Took quite alot of force, but not excessive amount. Getting a decent leverage point in there was the main issue. Stuffed the seal ...

Shuddering Vibration When Turning & Accelerating - Fixed!
For the record, in case anyone else has this issue:
It was the left inner CV. The shuddering type vibration was when accelerating hard whilst turning right. It didn't sound anything like the clicking noise the outers make when they are dead.
I haven't replaced the right inner yet, but since I'm ...

Re: Could This Be Anything But Valve Stem Seals?
Did the whole job again - this time using felpro viton seals, and it seems to have fixed the problem.
Last seals were unbranded "premium" viton seals from fordprobestore. Recommend to avoid these like the plague.

The coolant feed is solely to prevent icing up of the throttle body.

Re: Availability Of K8 Or KF piston rings
That's very generous of you, thank you, but can you even get them?SuperK wrote:I don't know the availability in NZ, but you could convince someone in the states to send you a set. So if you can't find anything locally, I can purchase some and have them shipped to you

Re: Availability Of K8 Or KF piston rings
Rockauto doesn't list them anymore, and IPP seems to be dead (but will try them again in a few days time).
However, I'm wondering about using Honda D16/D17 pistons. They are really common and cheap and are available in about 9 different pin heights/dome configs. Can anyone tell me the K8's pin ...

Availability Of K8 Or KF piston rings
Hi, I'm considering doing a quick refresh of my K8ZE to get another 100000km out of it (it's done 190000km, and it's starting to get smokey and use oil). Either that, or a quick refresh of probably equally worn KFZE I can get relatively cheap.
However, I can't find anyone who sells either K8 or KF ...

Could This Be Anything But Valve Stem Seals?
Problem: *Big* cloud of lazy blue smoke on startup. Totally cleared after 3 seconds. After that, no smoking under any conditions.
Background: Just replaced the valve stem seals with viton ones from FPS (to fix a much less pronounced version of this problem). Also replaced rocker cover gaskets ...

Re: Intermediate Shaft Removal Necessary?
ElectricEnergy, thank you, that sounds like a good plan r.e. the spider gears. So i take it one just pops the inner CV off the intermediate shaft? is this just C-clipped on too?

Intermediate Shaft Removal Necessary?
I'm just prepping to do a clutch change on my v6 presso.
Can I just confirm if the intermediate shaft first needs to be removed from the gearbox, before the gearbox can be removed from the engine, or if it can just be left in place and the gearbox slid on/off it?
I read a procedure for the ford ...

V6 Badge Removal
Apologies, if this is a dumb question, but how does one remove the rear hatch V6 badge? is it just double-sided-foam-taped on? or is there clips in behind there somewhere?
cheers
