What power steering pumps can I use?

Post by Elli »

I have p/s whine and a full reservoir. What cars can I steal a p/s pump off of?

I have a pump that I recently yanked from my GS, as I converted to full manual steering.

I'd send it your way for $10 + shipping, if you're interested.

Any K? Including KF? Cuz we have tons at the yard right now.
MrMazda, I may take you up on a pump I know works... but it won't be for another month. I'm taking the engine out and at that point I'm gonna determine whether or not my rack is leaking.

My mistake, I thought the 4 cyl probe had a KF in it... only to find out KFs are V6s. :dunno:

It's an FS-DE which has a pump that works on the KLDE... so must work on the K8/KLZE.

thats why i threw the term V6 around so much lol. If its working on a DE then it should work on the rest of the V6 family

It's nice for us. There's always a million Probe 4 bangers in the yard.

Whoa now, I never said that. We actually have enough KLs in the yard for me to not having to take a rear valve cover off when I'm hunting for my core cams next week.

ah ok. Then whats the story with trying to get a 4Cyl pump. Is it cheaper? Or maybe easier to get to?
