RS or GS hatch garnish??

Post by Calg_93GS »

just got my hands on a RS raised spoiler, i was going to try and find the wrap around spoiler but after seeing a few on other mx3's in person i decided i would try and find a RS garnish, now that i have it, i cant decide on weather or not to use the RS or the GS so i was just curious how most people felt about the 2 spoilers, also are the raised RS spoilers more rare then the GS or wrap around? im still fairly new to mx3's so mind the questions lol

The RS raised spoiler is definitely more rare than the wrap around spoiler.

I am not so much into the two spoiler thing myself, but if you mocked it in place and post a pic i could see it looking kind of cool.

It would look cool with a aftermarket lip garnish if you could find one. That was always my plan until i got the MS spoiler.

Tbh I love the look of the garnish, and you can save the weight on the hatch to boot... Your hatch struts might last longer that way too  Those things are a joke!

I like the look of all of them, except the raised rs spoiler :/ Most people disagree with that, but I just think the center gap is too large. It also doesn't look to me like it's at the right angle to be effective(Not that it would be anyway, since these cars are FWD, it's just a looks thing...)

It's all personal preference. Whatever you feel like doing =) I'm torn between wrap around and RS garnish personally.

To the OP. For clarity, when we refer to the hatch garnish, we are referring to a metal piece that is installed when there is no spoiler to cover that portion of the hatch that the spoiler would normally cover.

I also think Josh that you have mistakenly thought that he is asking how it would look if 2 spoilers were installed but I don't think that's what he meant. I think he's asking what people think about those two spoilers.

ah thanks for the clarification, and yes, i had no intentions of mounting the raised spoiler on my current gs wing, that would look just plain stupid. ive seen a mazda speed wing and it (sorry) just screamed rice to me being that these are fwd cars

Raised spoiler is nice. I see the wrap around all the time so it's common here. Then there's the Combat Spoiler. 8)

Oh I know the part. It's been about 5 years since I actually held one in my hands so maybe it's just twisted in my mind.

I plan to do this as well, should I choose the garnish. It looks weird black to me...
