its a kenwood kdc 4032 u can turn the subs right from the deck and when i turn them off they are still on but not as loud and just as that happened the other day i lost a crap load of bass. its about 3 months old so still has warranty. i tried different rcas, different grounds, wires everything. i had it back to the place i got it from and they told me nothing was wrong but there is any other ideas

Well Lets see I have a kenwood also. There should be a sub level adjustment in the options along with bass/treble/fader/balance.

There is also an option to change the sub output to fullrange.

There are also secondary volume control. this can effect the decks output. Its termed SVC in my particular deck.

Also I have crossover options. It's possible you could have changed that to a less desirable setting.

Well I hate retuning all my options but last thing you can try is unplugging the unit for about 2 hours then plugging it back in. That should clear the memory.

As far as the output from the sub preouts it depends on the deck. Obviously a 4v preout should have a 4 volt signal from the deck. Most decks without range from .8 to 2.0 volts.

Last but not least if your using the crossover on the amp you can always split off the fullrange rear outputs. Splitting the signal will not harm the deck or your subs or amp as long as your amps crossover is in use.

ok i figured a 4 volt pre out should be 4 volts that easy enough to guess.

so i changed amps to one that has a lot less power i went from 600 watts to 200 watts sucks but its bass, anyways with this amp i can turn them off and they are off but im think its just becuase its a weaker amp im guessin theres a problem with my old amp so im gotta get it checked out i picked it up from a friend so no warranty hahaha
