Should my blow off valve be completly closed and sealed at idle, or should it be fluttering from the vacuum at idle??
My guess that it should be sealed at idle because if it isnt it would make like a vacuum leak and be taking in unmeasured air...am i right??
Can someone please let me know asap, trying to get my car out tomorrow!!!
Thanks

yes it should be closed completely at idle. most BOVs have washers that you can place inside under the spring to give it more tension. keep adding them until it is completely closed @ idle.
even if the air is still being metered, make sure the BOV is closed at idle. if it is not it can suck in air that has not passed through the air filter.
it doesn't make a vacuum leak because the BOV is before the throttle body. it could let unmetered air in depending on if/where your MAF is located. if the MAF is after the BOV the air will still be metered. if the MAF is before the BOV then the air will not be metered. if you are running a MAP setup then the air will be metered. My guess that it should be sealed at idle because if it isnt it would make like a vacuum leak and be taking in unmeasured air...am i right??
