93 GS Special Edition

Post by your m0m »

i looked at a 93 mx-3 gs special edition today. its got 97000miles and still runs good. the only problems were the sunroof was stuck(the motor would run, but the panel didnt move), a rip in the leather seats, some condensation in one headlight and a ticking noise from the engine(think its from low oil). The car drives great, and ive seen the service recipts for every thing done in the past few years(exhaust, cv joints, axels all replaced, a new battery and oil done every 3000 miles). Just curious as to what i should offer for this car.

Trade-in value is ~$2200. "Private party" used value (also from Kelly Blue Book) is ~$3300. Both are considering "good" condition, which is what it sounds like this is. If there are no other problems, $2200 is a good deal (for you.) If I was the seller, I would be asking $3300 and settle for $2900.

the sunroof rubber surround is probably stuck to the paint, if you go back to see it, push up on the sunroof while pressing the open button. If it pops up and runs then its ok. The ticking is normal for the engine at this age, regular oil changes and the correct level will help. consider offering between $2200-$3000.
