Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
I cleaned my hood as well...
The washer that I have are off an Mercedes Sprinter van; they can clip on to your wiper arm.
You'd need a decent sprayer pump though, mine was to old to provide decent pressure.

I think the main issue with mounting jets in the cowling is the spray is always going to clash with the wiper arms unless you had the jets on a really high stalk!

Please don't tap on the hood. It disturbs the gerbils.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
The wiper blades pitched up late afternoon so didnt manage to complete
the full install but they do fit! and the hose attachment sits nicely under the arm.

I think they look pretty damn good too! Just got to run some lines
down the arm into the scuttle panel and T up to the main pump hose.

So went down the hardware shop this morning to bag some 3mm clear tube for the wiper arms, worth noting not 4mm as the washer pump hose is so had to heat up the 3mm tube in boiling water to get it onto the T connector.
Ran the clear lines down under the arms and into the scuttle panel to T into the main hose and attached the lines with zip ties.

And they work! really well five jets on each blade spray direct at the screen.

Plus you dont really notice the pipes under the arms if done in clear hose.

I would seriously recommend this mod. if you want delete the bonnet jets or your fitting a carbon bonnet etc..
.. and you dont need an uprated pump with this one either.

Right I have taken a bit of a gamble here! Changed the brake servo assist hose for some Feser UV green PC coolant hose> 10mm ID / 13mm OD.
Has a breaking stress of 100bar, but I dont know about expansion/crushing under vacuum.. will have to see?!

Hmm, can you thread a vacuum line into that? so you have the strength and reliability of a good hose and the look that your after.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
yes thats probably what I should of done to start with, that hose collapsed pretty quicky!
Im going to try some reinforced 4.5mm wall thickness green silicone hose next
and if that dont work then I'll just use some hose wrap for now till I figure out
a threaded line...Good call Josh.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
If you soften the green hose up first, like in some boiling water on your stove top, then it should be pretty easy to get another hose into that one. It will just take a little bit of time.

Re: UK Sam's 1.6 Turbo MX-3 project
Bagged alot of stuff from the breakers
pulley wheels to be painted up magenta, fuel rail plus various brackets im looking at chrome
powder coating.

also bought a V6 strut bar.

Have started work on the alu. tank for the windscreen washer and started designing a sump bash guard to be welded onto the 323 sump which i can fit in prep for the turbo and lower the ride height a bit more!
and just fittted a Trust white Duracon shift knob.

Nice shift knob, i got a question. do you have to have the 1-2-3-4-5 on the knob in your city or youll get a ticket for it? i got a 145 dollar ticket for my shifter knob not having the numbers on it.
