Hi guys,
i'm new to this forum, but have visited here for awhile. I own a 1993 Black MX-3 GS and have enjoyed this car for 7 years now and is now 220K+ KM in it and still runs well, but now as time passes it seems to have a problem with the climate control lights. Whenever I turn on my lights, the climate control's light disappears, and also the rear defroster switch light is also gone when i turn it on, speedometer lights and the rest are okay, except with the 2 mentioned. Anyone know what's the solution to this? or a step by step instruction on how to fix it. Don't want to spend $$ just having this fix to the mechanic, so i'm thinking of doing it. Anyone who can list a walk-through would be appreciated.
Thanks,
John

Welcome to MX-3.com John.
If you've verified that everything else (lighting-wise) is still working than it seems to be simply a blown bulb. Removing the trim face plate off of the centre consol should gain you acees to the bulb fixture. I believe it's a single bulb that is utilized for the HVAC. As far as the rear defroster button is concerned, I believe it's a very very tiny bulb and I'm not familiar or know if it's possible to replace just the bulb in there. I couldn't replace the AC bulb in mine when it finally gave out. Hopefully it won't precipitate the necessity to go to the junk yard and retrieve another rear defrost button in the hopes that the bulb is still serviceable in there. Another suggestion would be to go to the mx-3.com homepage and look to the left hand side links. There you will find the link for the online manual. That can come in very handy for DIY'rs. good luck
