GTX ecu/harness

Post by Boris »

ok this COULD very well be a dumb question...but here it goes:

For my turbo b6 project, would getting the ecu and wiring harness out of a 1.6L 323 GTX work??? I don't really know much about that car, but it seems like it would be easier and cheaper than going with a standalone or something.

the ecu conecters from the GTX are different ftom that of the sohc/dohc 4cly mx-3 i campared the two since i also have a 88 Madza 323 GTX. so if ur thinking they would be plug and play no but there are guys using the B6DE block with the B6T head and i think vise versa as for what they are using as a enginemangement i don't remember some went stock ecu other piggyback, standalone.

So I wouldn't be able to switch the ECU AND the wiring harness? I figured I wouldn't be able to just plug and play the ECU, but I'm curious if putting in the ECU and wiring harness would work...

you could use your wiring harness and plug and play a BP26 ECU (BPT). the only thing that wouldent be hooked up would be the knock, but you dont need it.

Awesome so the SOHC harness on my B6 would plug and play with a BP26?? How much boost could I run with that ECU do you think? It just seems like such a good alternative to buying a standalone or piggy back.

its designed for the stock PSI at around 7psi. so with a boost contorller you could probably run 10 and you would be just fine, i would run the 330cc injectors too. i beleve it also uses some kind of MAP sensor just for boost, i dont rember for sure i will have to look around. this is what im doing with my friends BPT in his 92 MX.

Bugs has an awsome set up on his BP turbo setup. he is running the AFC2 but instead of running it off of the VAF hes running it off of a MAP from a Turbo RX7. its so much more reliable, and acurate, then trying to run it off of the TPS and VAF.

I really would try to stay away from a bp26 ECU if you want to go with more than stock boost. With a little bigger turbo many guys are hitting boost cut on the ECU very early and having some problems. Unless you are going to go with a Greddy Emanage or a APexi SAFC along with the BP26 ECU I would just get an N/A ECU then use the money left to get a Apexi SAFC II or something instead of like $200 for the BP26 ECU.

But that is just me...

ok cool well thanks for the feedback guys. I was looking at the E-manage and the S-AFCII as well. I am looking to put out around 10psi, and I can get both for around the same price on Ebay...

Bugs, you've had experience with the E-manage and S-AFCII haven't you? Which was easier to install, and which did you prefer??

Above is the link for the S-AFCII I was looking at buying for anyone who's interested in buying one.
