Engine Rebuild DONE !

Post by ModMX3 - (Carmaster2005) »

Ok, got the car running again yaaaaaa ! It was a combination of 2 pistons 4 oil rings. Stock rings where ok but went ahead and replaced rings and bearings along with the fuel pump as that was almost gone (due to the FMU). The major smoking was coming from the turbo seals and the little bit of smoke (on startup) was coming from rings. Question is I absolutly need my car now and have been driving it with the turbo connected and charge side disconected with a regular intake and maf sensor. oil feed line is disconnectd (yes i knew it would eventually seize up) But at the time I didnt think about The fact the the shaft might break. The turbo shaft broke alowing exhaust gas to enter my crankcase. Not Good! I have it plugged off now. But now my oil light comes on only at idle. I havent driven it since. Im thinking that this problem will go away after I change my oil? I have read that contamanited oil will cause low oil pressure due to viscosity breakdown. Keeping in mind that im running rich right now, Could this be the problem ? Thanks for any help !

PS :When I buy a replacment turbo Im investing in a piggyback so I can turn down my FMU to about 2:1 and increase my injector duty cycle. So I will never have thease preblems again. And 7 PSI is looking like a better number right now. Let me be an example to the importance of TUNING expecally on a turbo setup :)

if you run too rich you could wash out your cyl and ruin your rings again. Also if you start to wash the gas will break the oil down faster. The major backpressure I have no clue on...
