End of my black mx :(

Post by solo_ryder »

Got hit by some guy turning left into my lane. Looks like the insurance company may try to screw me, I am getting a lawyer. I am ok though which is good, few cuts and bruises. I got knoecked out for 20 min+ upon impact, pretty sureal waking in a ambulance. Here are some parting pics:

That sucks man.. Are you going to get another MX-3? Maybe you can still salvage some parts from the wreck :) Good luck with whatever you decide :)

Do not think I am getting another mx at this time. I need to see if I even get nay money from ICBC at all as they want to try to pin this on me as I am a new driver. I have had nothing but troubles with the mx but what can you do. If I can buy it back I will part stuff out I think.

MAN!! that is probably the worst wrecked MX-3 I've ever seen. (well maybe one other at the Jyard once. Looked like there was no way the driver could have survived, gave me the chills.)
I am glad you are ok, and really suprised that you didn't have any major injuries.
Once again, grats to Mazda for building a safe car.

This makes me a sad panda... I'm sorry for your loss man. Did they say the other guy was at fault for the wreck or do you have arsehole cops there just like I have here?

Well the cop is giving me some ticket for some speeding crap, but i am taking that to court as there is no way to prove it. It was to early for me haha. ICBC claims guy said it was his fault from what he can see, I know that it was his fault so if they try to pull somehting I will talk to my lawyer.

Good luck with that. I hope you can at least get something back from this. My local sheriff's office is a POS. A guy backed up into my MX-3 last Saturday, admitted he was backing up, but the cop said I was "following too closely" but didn't give me a ticket because he wasn't quite sure how far the guy backed up when he hit me. Bunch of BS but I can't prove how far the dumbarse backed up (I was a good 5 ft behind him at least) despite he did say "my van stalled and I was backing up to get enough speed to go over the speed bumps and I didn't see her". The cop said he was being 'lenient' since 'both are at fault'. No, if he wasn't backing up in a road way (especially since I was STOPPED 5 feet behind him), the accident would have never occurred. Unfortunately, as a 'rule of thumb' when a vehicle is hit in the rear, they cite the rear car with following too closely (much like this jackarse cop was trying to do to me).

But like I said, Good luck! I hope it works out for you.

ICBC phoned me today and they wanted to offer 4300$ for it, it has 245k, really shitty paint, but suspension mods (tokico blues + suspension tech springs) KLZE, full exhaust including headers piping etc. and some stereo shat. I think it is not bad considering i am gonna try to buy it back and sell the motor.

What you guys think?

Do you really think those parts are going to be worth the amount it would be to buy back the car? I'm pretty sure you won't be driving the car anymore. If you think all the parts are working and sellable, then by all means get it back but don't forget that you also have to get the most out of it that you can, especially if you need to buy another car now.

Yea I bartered with them and I managed to get 5500$ for it, so I am happy now. I will buy it back and get the motor out and sell that to, as for a new car I am looking at these two:

I like Honda's so dont hate me haha.

Good job getting them to give you more. As for the Hondas... I'm not going to comment on that... but if you do get your MX-3 back and decide to part it, I'd like some stuff but seeing as you're up in Canada I don't know how feasible it would be for what I'm looking for my MX-3 and my GS I sold to a friend last month...

I'm still waiting to hear back on how much money I get for my car being ransacked in the beginning of July (after less than 30 days buying it and the weekend after selling my GS). I hate insurance companies...

Yea i am happy. They ran the vin and it came up as a RS?? I told him helll no and it got more, I gave him like 30 ads with high price mx's haha. I am looking into getting that black honda. I know ppl dont like hondas but I am not a ricer I want a clean reliable car. Yes, if I get the car back I will most likely be parting out some stuff, I have lots of mint interior panels etc.

EDIT

I just want to add that Canadian insurance is not the same as US one as it is government run so everyone has the same comapny. Not private shat.
