I am just wondering what year and what kind are the most common used projectors?

You must be referring to the complete headlight unit that's used to substitute the MX headlight? If so, I think Civic seem to be the unit of choice.
If you're referring to updating/modifying our current headlight shells, the use of various projectors, halogen and HID, are as diverse and unique as their respective price. Projectors from Acura's, BMW's, Mercedes', Honda S2K, Lexus are all of a high caliber and quality and of course, a high price. Sourcing "almost" similar units at retail from places like Hella will run between $1,000.00 and $1,500.00, usually.
