Instead of using a million different tab connectors to wire my headlights and having a mess, I'd like to wire everything through a single plug. But I'm no electrical savant, so I figured I'd check with you guys to make sure my logic isn't flawed. Alright, so the wiring is going to be like this...
In order to use a plug connector, it'd have to have 7 wire ports by my reasoning. One thing I'm not sure of is the negatives. Could I run all my negatives from the headlight into a single port in the plug? Then I'd only need a 5 wire plug, right?
More importantly, where could I find such a plug? I've been to the local Radio Shack and an auto parts store to no avail.
I dont see why you couldnt use a common ground for all of your ground wires, as for the plug.. hit your mazda dealer or better yet.. a junk yard and start looking for a set that will work for you. I am sure you will find something somewhere Hope this helps.

So the question of the negatives - don't forget what power thats going up the positive wire is also coming back down the ground wire so make sure the ground wire is big enough to carry the whole circuit with everything turned on (this really only matters if both your high beam and low beam are going to operate at the same time).
And a plug? I'm with Tunes suggestion of a junk yard. Have a look around and I'm sure you'll find some plugs with enough terminals. Just be careful not to overload the ground pin in it. I'd go for a 6 pin and keep the high / low beam grounds separate.
